Guido's Fort, east of the Shutturga
Scene XXIII - 5th month (Buhrlen, Felmont, Summer, 16th day, 990 AC)
The mace of the ogre chief is indeed impressive, and probably magical, but quite difficult to handle for Bofar. He may however be able to modify it with some help by artificiers or smiths in Highforge (and no small amount of money).
You soon go to rest and the morning after things look better. Bonth has awaken and likewise Dorus and Gareth should be fine soon. You talk among themselves about recent events, and with Desmond who tells you how they killed the hobgoblin king of the Hill. He is sorry that did not work completely, as the humanoids attacked anyway, aided by the red dragon, but is glad you were able to obtain the help of the blue dragons.
Bonth tells you he is sorry he was unable to properly lead you against the dragon, but he had not the hearth to order you to charge to certain death. He is anyway impressed by how well you did, and if you return to Highforge he will recommend you for any assignment you may desire.
In the afternoon Baron Desmond Kelvin senior returns to Guido's Fort, cheered by the local Lord and the population. The humanoids have been chased away, but he says he will increase all the patrols on the border for the time being, and help refugees return to their villages, even those outside the barony, if they accept his help.
He then comes to greet and praise you, offering you, as his son said, anything you may wish. He proposes gold, magic, training or an assigment in Kelvin, even for the future if at the moment you prefer to return to Highforge.
(Roughly, Kelvin offers you a generous reward equivalent in monetary value to an year of salary in Highforge, so 60 gold coins, or the equivalent value in a magical item of your choice. You should now decide what reward you would prefer and if you want to return to Highforge, or move soon to Kelvin).
