Bofar slows a bit, then stops to listen what Lucius is saying. Then he looks around to see if there is stone or any other fireproof structure big enough to go behind and take cover.

The Hill, east of the Shutturga
Scene XVI - 5th month (Buhrlen, Felmont, Summer, 14th day, 990 AC)

The example given by Lucius has an effect on everyone. Gareth and Dorus follow Bonth to attack the dragon directly. Everyone else try to take cover to fire at the creature.
Some, as Blago and Cullen, seem more eager to hide rather than fight, but still they remain in the area.
Agnja is the first one to act, sending a magical darkness around the head of the dragon.
For some instants, he is engulfed in the darkness and roars in protest but, after just a wave of his left claw, the darkness dissipates.
Bonth, Gareth and Dorus had enough time to arrive near the beast and try to strike at his belly.
Seeing this Neim, Ludovico, Dim and Taradain fire what they have at the eyes of the beast, trying at least to distract him. Bofar and Lucius are able to find the low brick wall of a nearby house which can cover them.
Bonth and Dorus attacks seem to have some effect on the creature, as you distinctly see wounds. But the dragon is far from defeated.
He shakes his whole body and sweep the area all around him with his arms and tail.
Bonth, Gareth and Dorus are thrown away like some small dolls by an annoyed child.
Then the dragon runs toward the rest of you. He seems fast and nimble as a cat about to fall on his prey, only he is a gigantic cat, and you are the prey.

The Hill, east of the Shutturga
Scene XVI - 5th month (Buhrlen, Felmont, Summer, 14th day, 990 AC)

Your projectiles fly and do some damage, but clearly they will not stop the dragon in time. You look death itself in the eyes for some instants, then you heard another roar, and the red dragon stops in front of you. You do not understand what is happening, then a huge form falls from the sky, landing near you as if a building just came down from the heavens.
You are knocked off your feet and it takes some instants to realize you are now seeing another dragon!
But the new one is blue, and apparently bigger of the red.
The two dragons do not move, and just stare at one another like two perfect statues.
You are at the same moment utterly terrified and greatly impressed by their beauty.
Then the red dragon just turns his head and flies away.
The blue stays still for a while, watching the red go.
Then the creature turn the face toward you and you think is face has some feminine quality, and maybe also the trace of a smile.
The blue rises to the sky too and disappear in just some instants.
There is now a great silence over Guido's Fort. The rain has stopped and the fog is opening. There are no enemies in sight, only some corpses of attackers and defenders, some wounded moaning feebly, some soldiers still on their feet, now walking around in complete stupor.

Lucius shakes his head and goes to check on Bonth. Then, he cleans and binds his own wound as he can, and proceeds to help move the other wounded to some shelter.

The Hill, east of the Shutturga
Scene XVII - 5th month (Buhrlen, Felmont, Summer, 14th day, 990 AC)

Checking the conditions of the others around, Gareth and Dorus, even if wounded, are back on their feet but the face of Kesh looking after Bonth soon tells you that the conditions of the gnome are probably desperate.
The cleric is trying to heal him anyway but his body seems a broken doll on the ground.

Lucius has two healing potions... Maybe they can be of use to save Bonth, and he tells it to Kesh.

Kesh tries the healing potions too. Bonth is still barely breathing, and the cleric says it must be seen if he will survive the night. He is not the only one. All the town is now tending to the wounded and the dead. The town hall and the two small churches become temporary hospitals. Kesh also tries to look after Bofar and Julius' wounds.
As the night approaches, refugees from the north flood into Guido's Fort, many telling another big humanoid army is approaching.
The realization hits you suddenly. The humanoid and the dragon who just attacked came from The Hill, but the main Leptarian force has not arrived yet!
And the ruined wooden wall of the town will hardly be able to withstand another assault..
"We should probably tell everyone to run away or hide", Cullen says.
"The wounded cannot be moved and the elders and children will hardly be able to escape", Kesh says.
"Our only hope is that Kelvin's army will arrive before the enemy, or we are all dead", Ludovico says.
"We cannot surrender now after all this. We have faced a dragon!", Agnja says forcefully, shutting down Blago who tries to argue you should run away.
Some people are indeed speaking in the main square of the town, arguing to run and scatter. But Lord Marco, son of the original founder Guido, intervenes, even if he is wounded and can hardly stand, saying to stay together and repair the fortifications as best as possible, assuring the people that Kelvin will arrive in time..

The people of the town work feverishly to repair the wooden wall, but it is clear the work will not done by the night and not even by the day after.
Anyway for now nothing approaches from the north or the east, nor from the river in the west. But there is no sign of the Kelvin army from the south either.
The refugees reply to Lucius as best as they can, but mostly they just saw small groups of humanoid scouts, from whom they ran away as fast as possible, so they cannot really tell how far the army is.
Lucius however, thinking about the movement of the scouting parties, can guess it could arrive here by the next dawn.
So even if it is almost a desperate task, no one sleeps in Guido's Fort and everyone tries to help in repairing the wooden wall. Even if some people went south on boats or by feet or carriages, most of the population is still here, and the refugees which continue to arrive have even increased it.
When the dawn approaches, the wooden wall is a mix-up of furniture, firewood and carts. It could probably resist half an hour, if you are lucky.
A feeble light is brighting the dark sky to the east when you begin to hear horns and chants.
From the north.

Lucius tries to persuade the local lord to send away as much of the local population as possible, although this had to be done much earlier.

The Hill, east of the Shutturga
Scene XIX - 5th month (Buhrlen, Felmont, Summer, 15th day, 990 AC)

Lord Marco is trying to send a few women and children away but too many boats and wagons are gone, either because people fleeing in panic took them, or because they were used to repair the wooden wall.
Therefore the amount of people which can be sent to safety is quite limited.
In the morning the humanoid army is here and is bigger than you feared. You see orcs, hobgoblins, bugbears, ogres and hill giants. They even have a couple of catapults and soon big rocks begin to hit the houses of Guido's Fort.
But the humanoids do not even wait to wear you down. Arrows and bolts soon start flying from both sides, along with some magical darts and explosions. Then the main force of the humanoids charges against the town. They seem pretty sure they can tear your wall down in a short time, and they are probably right.
Very soon you have a hill giant and two ogres coming at your section of the patched wooden wall. They all have big wooden shields and big maces, and they move quickly against the wall.

Bonth is still breathing, but has not woken up yet despite Kesh best efforts. He had several broken bones and maybe his spine too. Kesh thinks it may be best to find a more powerful cleric to try to heal him.
Unfortunately the most powerful clerics of Guido's Fort are also wounded or busy, but they may be able to look at him tomorrow.

Dim launches Ghost Sound in the zone around the Ogres, simulating the strong hissing and cracking of some big snakes among the grass and the foliages on the ground, to distract and confuse them while the others are shooting at them.

The Hill, east of the Shutturga
Scene XX - 5th month (Buhrlen, Felmont, Summer, 15th day, 990 AC)

The projectiles launched by Bofar, Lucius and Taradain do not do much damage to the approaching enemy, and neither Cullen, Ludovico, Dorus and Gareth, but the ghost sound of Dim stops the ogres for a bit, while a magical dart by Agnja and a web by Blago hit the hill giant. Neim manages to shot the giant in the neck, causing him to grunt in pain, while Kesh seems to succeed in magically blocking a ogre for a while, but then the creature roars and continue his attack.
The giant soon removes the magical web and the three enemies begin to smash the wooden wall, partially tearing it down in a few instants.
You fire again and this time at a close range the result is different: even if many of your projectiles bounce back on the armors of the enemy, Lucius and Taradain hit one of the ogre in the head. The enemy falters for a few instants, then crashes down. Neim and Kesh also hit the hill giant, causing him two more wounds in the neck.
The creature is now really enraged and destroys completely the wooden palizade. Agnja however engulf his head into a bubble of darkness, making him effectively blind.
"Try to avoid the giant and concentrate your attack on the remaining ogre!" Kesh says.
Despite his warning, the hill giant manage to hit Dorus with his mace, and the already wounded warrior is sent stumbling away.
The ogre tries to hit Bofar, but the dwarf manages to avoid the heavy mace.
