Guido's Fort, east of the Shutturga
Scene XXII - 5th month (Buhrlen, Felmont, Summer, 15th day, 990 AC)

Your blocked companions are soon freed and with clerical assistance Gareth, Dorus and all the wounded are healed, or at least stabilized until Sara can prepare more spells. Then she proceed to take a look at the conditions of Bonth, and let you know she is confident he will wake up tomorrow.
The Kelvin army take care of the immediate assistance to the population, while the Baron pursues the enemy to the north.
"Tomorrow my father will certainly reward you - Desmond says - you have done much for our land and we will be happy to welcome and assist you in Kelvin at any time, even if you may want to stay in Highforge or Threshold for some more time. Land, magic, gold or a job, I will ask my father to grant you what you desire!"

Lucius thanks Desmond for his words, then goes to find a bunk and collapses, exhausted by the battle both physically and mentally.

Bofar loots the body of the ogre chief for any valuables. Then he searches for someone to tend his wounds.

Guido's Fort, east of the Shutturga
Scene XXIII - 5th month (Buhrlen, Felmont, Summer, 16th day, 990 AC)

The mace of the ogre chief is indeed impressive, and probably magical, but quite difficult to handle for Bofar. He may however be able to modify it with some help by artificiers or smiths in Highforge (and no small amount of money).
You soon go to rest and the morning after things look better. Bonth has awaken and likewise Dorus and Gareth should be fine soon. You talk among themselves about recent events, and with Desmond who tells you how they killed the hobgoblin king of the Hill. He is sorry that did not work completely, as the humanoids attacked anyway, aided by the red dragon, but is glad you were able to obtain the help of the blue dragons.
Bonth tells you he is sorry he was unable to properly lead you against the dragon, but he had not the hearth to order you to charge to certain death. He is anyway impressed by how well you did, and if you return to Highforge he will recommend you for any assignment you may desire.
In the afternoon Baron Desmond Kelvin senior returns to Guido's Fort, cheered by the local Lord and the population. The humanoids have been chased away, but he says he will increase all the patrols on the border for the time being, and help refugees return to their villages, even those outside the barony, if they accept his help.
He then comes to greet and praise you, offering you, as his son said, anything you may wish. He proposes gold, magic, training or an assigment in Kelvin, even for the future if at the moment you prefer to return to Highforge.

(Roughly, Kelvin offers you a generous reward equivalent in monetary value to an year of salary in Highforge, so 60 gold coins, or the equivalent value in a magical item of your choice. You should now decide what reward you would prefer and if you want to return to Highforge, or move soon to Kelvin).

Bofar inquires if there is any chance for very fine (magical) hammer. But he will still return to Highforge. I have to thank Kagyar properly for me still being alive. I think I will offer this big mace to show my gratitude.

Lucius will take the magical item option. What do you consider equivalent to 60 gold coins?

The Baron can certainly arrange for you to have a +1 weapon, armor or amulet or an item with a magical effect, up to 2nd level clerical, wizard or druidic spells. Normally such items would cost in the range of 100 gp or more, but obviously the Baron could have them at a lesser cost.

Dim too chooses the "magical item option": if it is possible, a magical mace or a magical dagger.
After profusely thanking the Baron, he will return to Highforge, to continue his own training.

Ok, noted. The items are not immediately available but will be sent to you in Highforge. Taradain also please make your choice.
If everyone agrees to return to Highforge for now, we will soon proceed to the next chapter, fast forwarding a bit the lives of your PCs.

Guido's Fort, east of the Shutturga
Scene XXIII - 5th month (Buhrlen, Felmont, Summer, 17th day, 990 AC)

Desmond also tells you about the fallen star, the original reason you had for exploring the Hill. He and Nicola questioned a captured guard of the Hobgoblin King, but apparently the star was retrieved by the hobgoblins and given to the red dragon as a gift. Probably now the dragon will leave the Hill, if he has not already done so after the defeat of his humanoid army, but Desmond thinks you will probably not find the fallen star there anymore.
Desmond mean to return to the Hill with some backup quite soon, to be sure the complex will be occupied by the more friendly brutemen, and to help them against any remaining humanoid, if some remain. He say the two old ladies said they were leaving the Hill, but he would like to ask the brutemen if this is true, just in case.
He would also like to meet the centaurs, if not the Blue Lady, and maybe send a message to her.
"So you see we still have some errands to do. You can join us if you like".
Bonth is still recovering, so he thinks he will wait in Guido's Fort a few more days to fully recover, and then he will return to Highforge to report. But he gives you leave to go with Desmond, if you want to run this final errand with him.
In the meantime the Baron Desmond the first is preparing to return to Kelvin. He promises he will have your magical weapons sent to you to Highforge in about two months.

Guido's Fort, east of the Shutturga

If you wish to stay with Desmond and his group a bit longer, Bonth can wait for you in Guido's Fort until Felmont 25th. after that, he will return to Highforge and you can join him there. If you instead prefer to return to Highforge as soon as possible, Bonth thinks he will be able to travel by Felmont 21st.
Agnja would like to stay with Desmond a bit more, while Blago would prefer to return to Highforge, as Neim, Gareth and Kesh. Cullen thanks you again for rescuing him and tells you to return to Guido's Fort any time you want.
The lord of the town thanks you likewise and assure you will always have free lodgings, food and drinks in the local inn any time you visit. Also he says he will provide any assistance to you should you need something.

Guido's Fort, east of the Shutturga
Scene XXIV - 5th month (Buhrlen, Felmont, Summer, 21-23th day, 990 AC)

As you prefer to return to Highforge, Desmond says he will write you if he and his companions find something interesting left in the Hill or among the centaurs.
As Bonth said, by Felmont 21st you are able to travel, returning to Highforge using the same road you used to leave it just 13 days ago. In such a short time, a lot has happened.
You pass through Denbol, the gnomish village inhabited also by stone giants, but Karto, Wyric, Teish, Mino and Talla and the giant Karkum have not returned yet from their search of the missing egg.
You are back in Highforge on Felmont 23th, tired but happy to be alive. In the gnomish territory there were no humanoids attacks, despite the assault on Guido's Fort.

(You will now resume your normal life in Highforge. Go to the first page of this thread or your sheets to see what you were doing. We will advance two years of your characters' lives next week, and what will happen to them will be in part determined randomly. You can however choose what interests, training and personal relationships you prefer to pursue while in Highforge, and you should also choose if you prefer to stay put in the city for a while or if you are available for some moderately dangerous outside missions. If you choose the latter, your character will not obviously die off-game in any case, but he could be unlucky and suffer a nasty wound. However the more you risk the more you could gain...)

Bofar will continue his training both on smithy and on rangers house. He is willing to take part on some missions outside the town but avoids everything that seems too dangerous.

In his free time he will now start to pay bit more attention to Klisa. Having faced a dragon makes the opposite sex look a bit less dangerous.

Lucius takes as many missions as he can. The battle has strengthened his confidence in his fighting ability, but reduced his patience for civilians.

Dim too, uses his time to train intensively, both at the forge and with magic.
He'll be cautious with the missions outside HighForge, accepting only low-risk assignments and focusing more on his hard training in the town.
