How many source books were published for Scarred Lands?

And which ones should I pick up first?

Edit:

I count 36 that I have. I think I own most if not all of them. For starters you should pick up the Ghelspad Campaign setting, Creature Collection Revised, and The Divine and the Defeated. That covers the main continent where most of the other sourcebooks also deal with, the first monster manual which also includes some setting specific racial traits, and the deity book that also includes new domains for the gods of the Scarred Lands. Beyond that, it depends on what type of campaign you want to run which books you should pick up. let me know what you are interested in and I can come up with some more recommendations.

I'd add Relics & Rituals to that list.

Thanks for a great list, Shane.

Do you know of somewhere where I can find more details, so I can prioritise my product search?

What happened to 8302, 8304, 8318, 8337 and 8339? Are these five numbers assigned to the novels?

I just picked this up a few weeks back from Leisure Games. It seems to be called Scarred Lands Campaign Setting: Termana. Is 8325 the Campaign Setting for Ghelspad? Is 8320 the Gazetteer for Ghelspad?

8341 has an advert in the back that says: "Coming soon for Scarred Lands: Vigil Watch: Asaatthi". Does that mean these books were published out of order (or do you think they were recycling an old advert)?

Which books are 3.0 and which are 3.5? I was trying to find which edition Creature Collection 2 is written for.

They might have had one on the Library of Lokil, but that wiki has not been fixed since scarn.com went down several times in 2010. ;(

I've now found the archived copy of the Library of Lokil at the Wayback Machine and added it to the Other Scarred Lands Websites (& Free Downloads) sticky.

I've checked the main page, but the creatures link is a red link (an unmade page).

Do you have all the free downloads too? (I'm hoping that list is complete.)

Yeah it has been a while, turns out having an 18 month old daughter eats up more time than I though. Who knew??? Yeah I have the downloads thanks. As far as I can tell that list is complete, I've checked on Drivethru RPG who had a pretty complete set of pdfs and it matches up with the list above. Unless someone else knows better in which case I might be quite sad...

You're correct about the gazetteers. 8325 is the hardback campaign setting for Ghelspad, 8320 is the shorter softback gazetteer. I've used the gazetteer for "what the players know" as a general baseline. The vast majority of the regional books - Calastia, Shelzar, Hornsaw etc - expand on areas in Ghelspad.

I think the advert must have been an old one recycled. The overall numbering is certainly not the publishing order although there are some sequences that are in order.

I think it is complete apart from (as stated by Shane) the Scarred Lands novels.

Cliffrice wrote:3?

Maybe what Scarred Lands needs (rather than another wiki) is something similar to the Pathfinder Database (only for the Scarred Lands Campaign Setting instead of for Golanthia).

Thanks for the clarification, Bochi. Apart from that we seem to have a pretty accurate list from Shane.

It seems like Termana is much less defined. I'd even consider regarding it as a sub-setting of Scarred Lands. (Does it have ten threads yet? )

Termana was a lot less defined than Ghelspad in terms of material that was published. Termana only got the Campaign setting, gazetteer, Blood bayou and the Divine and the defeated IIRC. I think Sword and Sorcery intended to go further with it but unfortunately the plug got pulled before any more could be developed.

There was also the Faithful and the Forsaken which dealt with the Forsaken elves in the aftermath of their demi-god's resurrection and discussed the history and culture of the Charduni.
