thoughts on Princes of the Apocalypse?

Post by HobbitFan »

So what do you guys think of Princes of the Apocalypse?

Much better than Tyranny of Dragons in my mind.
A few complaints:
1. The megadungeon is kinda a slog. I can see players getting bored with it.
2. To say the Elder Elemental Evil or Eye, whatever you want to call it is vague and undefined is an understatement. There is more in the conversion to other campaign settings than there is in actual adventure about it. I don't care for that at all.
3. Character hooks at start are pretty weak. Especially at the starting town.
4. Some map issues where maps don't match up with text descriptions. Distances for example are a problem.
5. Not enough red herrings. For something subtitled Unearth the Deception it's pretty obvious where the cult is once the players look around.
6. Not enough variation in location. It all takes place in small area which makes the whole thing feel limited.
7. Chapter Six side track uses Kraken Society as bad guys but doesn't say who they are or what their agenda is.

I'm interested in hearing what you guys think.
