[5e] "Plunder these D&D settings" article on Geek & Sundry

Geek & Sundry has an article up called: "Plunder These Awesome Dungeons & Dragons Settings. PLUNDER THEM!":
Geek & Sundry wrote:In the 40-plus years since Dungeon & Dragons first came on the scene, many worlds have been published. Some say the proliferation of separate campaign settings in the 90’s was the downfall of TSR Inc., the original creator of the game. In the aftermath we find ourselves able to steal the best from these well-worn universes, playing in them with more elegant versions of the core rules.

Let’s take a look at a few of the more memorable campaign settings from the past and find out what it takes to convert them into the newer editions of the game.

Ryan Chaddock suggests that 5th Edition fans convert five campaign settings to 5th Edition rules:
  • Dark Sun,
  • Dragonlance,
  • Eberron,
  • Ravenloft and
  • Spelljammer.

He also mentions Forgotten Realms, Greyhawk and Planescape.

Which campaign settings would you like to see converted to 5th Edition rules?

Wizbro has already plundered Raveloft and is plundering the Realms for 5e......

But yes, DragonLance, definitely for the draconians, the Solamnic Knights, Knights of Takhisis (if you want to go that route), kender (stop throwing those tomatoes at me!), and the moons of magic and the Wizard(s) of High Sorcery Arcane Tradition(s).

Dark Sun, I could see coming out on the Guild when they finally hone the psionics rules, probably introduced in another one-shot adventure book against the Dragon Kings of Athas.

Mystara, of course, needs to be on the list. It probably wasn't mentioned because it's a given :P

I'd enjoy seeing half-giants, mul, and thri-kreen as playable races for Dark Sun. And of course psionics. Perhaps this could even be an opportunity for some epic tier adventures (like the original Dragon Kings supplement).

I'd play 5e if they plundered BECMI/RC/WotI for War Machine, Dominions and Immortals. Those 3 types of rules made Mystara for me.

I've almost finished my conversion of those three sets of rules.

Here is my (mostly un-formatted) work in progress. The War Machine, Dominion, and Immortal parts are all finished.
Check out Gurbintroll Games for my free RPGs (including Dark Dungeons and FASERIP)!

Wow, that's a ton of content. Thank you for sharing this. I love that you included "Invest Warlock" as a spell for Immortals. :)
