Sailors!
Master Kate&Nathan revealed these preview pages are an updated version of U3 The Final Enemy, the last module of the Saltmarsh trilogy that you can already download on dmsguild as a bundle!

Not sure how to interpret this post at Sageadvice. Is this the nautical book they were talking about? A 5E verison of the Saltmarsh Trilogy?

Preview pages of the 5e version that they are working on, apparently.

The link to DM Guild is a bundle of the 1e version of U1-3.

I'd be willing to bet they used an updated excerpt of the classic adventure for an appendix, perhaps to illustrate how to integrate Boats & Shite into your Forgotten Realms D&D campaign?

Although, given how Wizbro is so keen on selling us the same old modules (again), Saltmarsh or Slave Lords is probably due for shoehorning into the Realms upgrading.

Yeah, that's what I thought.

Yes, I've expected them to make some kind of reboot of older adventures. Integrating the Boats & Shite material makes sense. It almost sounds like they are taking the Goodman Games route now?

Please tell me that [Boats and Shite] will not be the name of the upcoming ...Ships & the Sea... book.

One of my favorite series. I might actually buy them.

indeed.

This low level trilogy was one of my favorites in the game.

Looking forward to the stats for the wand of the squid. :D

I've never read or played U2 or U3, but I started off my college 2E campaign with U1, before going full homebrew adventures for the rest of it. I've considered trying to update U1 to another edition a few times, but if they're going to do it for me, I'll hold off. And hey, sea devils are a staple of the Freeport setting, so I'm sure I could find some use for the rest of the trilogy.

On the latest episode of the Dragon Talk podcast, Greg Tito described the as-of-yet-unannounced upcoming book as an "adventure." You can hear this within the first 10 minutes of the episode.

Given the pages that we've seen, that isn't a big surprise. That doesn't mean it won't also have some new mechanics or player options, but it points in the direction of a book that is primarily an adventure.
