Here's a nice piece, by UK composer Dexter Britain. This just screams "montage" (as does the longer, somewhat slower version of the tune). I could easily picture this running in the background while Ivy compiles the history of the Andahar twins....

Best of all, he's released the two songs (along with quite a few more) for public use under Creative Commins license.

Also, an awesome layering of vocals in the end theme #4 to "Space Battleship Yamato 2199," Kioku No Hikari ("Memories of Light"). Very nice orchestration, as well. Reading over the lyrics' translation... wow. This sounds like something Aimeel would perform, and what a punch. Bittersweet. A bit prophetic.

This week's episode of Fate/Kaleid liner just about nails how I visualize the Edge weapon system as augmented by dragonstones.

That's just a snippet.
Here is the entire battle. Can of whoop-ass? Two servings, please.

Shrike? Or maybe Ivy decides she needs an upgrade?

No, it's cool, but "two tympanists, yay"? Please. Jam the Death Star by Infocalypse is a fun piece that seems to be played on two telegraph keys.

Browsing through YouTube, I came across a music video someone had made, and some of the art just screamed "Thorn's Mystara."

First, something from the Handmaidens' adventures....

... and something for the main Chronicle?

Aw, don't be sad. That's Ivy in her element!

I have her origin story in the works, now, thanks to your throwaway reference to Andahar Onyx ;)

We rarely (if ever) have music playing while we game (unless it is, say, part of the adventure, like that old Ravenloft one with the CD). But I listen to music when writing all the time! My favorite is Venice Classic Radio (from Venice Italy no less), streaming via iTunes.

Okay, this whole trailer just oozes with some of the mood of Thorn's Chronicle. Yay for editing? I really hope the movie turns out as good as it sounds from the writeup on Wikipedia.

As an added plus, Aurora is played by the actress who I use as a mental model for the Fifth Handmaiden, Katarin.

Have any of you heard Adrian von Zeigler's stuff? His range of styles and moods is pretty amazing.

Ylaruam, or maybe Selenica, anyone? Or maybe more fitting for B4's Lost City?

Mortal Combat movie theme song. I had tape player. When players were having too many low rolls I would start the music. I dOn't know why but they started rolling better and finished the encounter rapidly. Strange....

I do love me a good epic "build up" type of theme. I just wish this one were longer, to make as much of the choir line as possible....

While I don't use a lot of music (or anything electronic) in my tabletop gaming, I have been looking into possibly doing so in a future session. And forgive me, if the link has already been posted (I briefly looked at the first few pages in this thread and didn't see it), yesterday, I found a blog site for RPG mood music that seems pretty nice, and what I'll be using in my upcoming session with sound effects...

A bit of melancholy, a bit of playfulness, a bit of etherealness.... How can he cram so much into two minutes of music??? :o

Colin Frake, composed by Thomas Bergersen, from the ebook soundtrack.

No, I haven't read the book. Not sure words could do the music justice.
