Unusual customs, traditions and festivals

Post by Big Mac » Thu Feb 08, 2018 1:37 am

The real-world has some unusual customs, traditions and festivals that really make certain places stand out. Examples include: (I'm sure I could add a lot of other things to this list of real customs, traditions and festivals.)

How do people use this sort of aspect of culture in their tabletop games?

I know I've seen a lot of people comparing real-world cultures with fantasy ones. Do you raid real-world cultures for ideas for traditions in the fantasy cultures?

Has anyone invented their own customs, traditions of festivals? How to you make the vibe of those events tie into the vibe of the fantasy culture?
