I have / had a few gamebooks from the first series and from the AD&D series.
The Master of Ravenloft is a faithful conversion of the superclassic (and iconic) adventure, the gamebooks by Rose Estes perhaps may be used for world building, but they are mainly aimed to younger readers, so they are not that focused on elegant world building, while the Test of the Ninjia is fantastic under this point of view (but it is mostly focussed on real historical middle age Japan at the time of the possible invasion from the coasts of China). Other AD&D titles may be suitable, but not that remarkable.

However, there are so many of them that I never read.

I ate these books up, back in the day. My parents would get me one or two every birthday or Christmas. It was a lot of fun trading them to read with friends as well. One of the mom & pop used book shops here in town (now, sadly, closed) had just about all of them, and I bought up the ones that I hadn't read some years back.

Back in the day, I got the DragonLance-related AD&D gamebooks because DL was my second-favorite setting.

I'd be more inclined to use them for their art* or the plot ideas rather than many of the details themselves. Then again, most were so generic, they could be bent to fit into just about any setting

*except for the interior art of EQ#11. Yeesh, that artwork was... not to my taste, especially after that Elmore cover

These were literally the books that got me into Dungeons and Dragons and fantasy in general. Someone gave me Mountain of Mirrors just as I learned to read and I have had a love of snowy, mountainous settings ever since. Going to pass them on to my daughters soon.

I did a search. You also mentioned the Kingdom of Sorcery trilogy in a post in your Endless Quest books for Mystara topic. But that was about using Tikandia as part of Mystara, so I started a new topic, called: [Tikandia] Kingdom of Sorcery trilogy setting in the Other Worlds forum.

Icarus thinks the stories might be set on the Lendor Isles. I hope you can pop by and let him know if you can confirm or refute that hunch.

I've started reading these new Endless Quest books. The first one I grabbed, at least, is pretty good. The art is all recycled, and the price is a bit excessive, and they have a lot of namedropping (Drizz't is sort of in the book, for instance). But overall, pretty good stories, if you can afford them.
