What happened to this thread?

Wasn't it about the Fifteen System?

More lost data or perhaps the OP wants the thread deleted.

You've really got to be more patient. Not everyone reads every day.

Are there rules for damage? I'm not really fond of the system. Why wouldn't everyone just say I'm taking 19 actions? Obviously that is perhaps a bit extreme but it seems like people are better taking as many actions as they can and just stopping at first failure. Resolution of opposed rolls is much nicer with additive systems instead of roll under but that is a matter of personal preference.

Looks interesting.

One possible problem is that telling the uses for some of the abilities apart can be tricky. For instance, when would you use Beautiful and when would you use Endearing? Or will these almost always be used in synergy with one another? Altert and Perceptive are two others I do not immediately see the difference between.

I like the idea of rolling below, but as close to the target number as possible. It reminds me of how it works in Pendragon RPG.

I can't really tell what this is, as you seem to have blanked out some of the early posts.

Are you intending to post some details of how this works, after you have done the playtest?

I wrote a message in the first post that explains why this project was put on hold for years and reactivated this month.

So... While working on your game design stuff, you might want to think about "The Three Questions" originally put forward by Jared Sorensen and expounded upon all over the interwebs.

The big three questions are;

"What is your game about?"
"How is your game about this?"
"How does your game encourage / reward this?"

John Wick likes to add a fourth question;

"How do you make this fun?"
It's a big world out there. Go tear it up.

Keeping notes or writing down inspirations by hand can certainly give a different, less sterile feel to the creative process. Something that you might consider, is setting aside some time each day (or at some other regularly scheduled interval) to transfer those notes to a computerized form as you progress.

This could be something as simple as retyping your notes into a word document, or taking pictures of the pages (which is somewhat data inefficient, but super fast), or as complex as putting all the information into a tagged, formatted, and codified wiki-space of some sort.

Not only will it give you a second look at those ideas, at which point you may or may not choose to fill them out more thoroughly, as the fancy strikes you, but it will also reduce your risk of losing those notes to some accident of fate or misplacement of the physical artifact.

On the specific task of world-building, or gazeteering... An exercise that I have found handy is, for each world element - whether that be a person, a location, an organization, or an object - try to come up with specific ways in which the element will affect play, and that players might want to / be able to affect the element in turn. Every piece of the world should be thought of as something that the players will interact with.
It's a big world out there. Go tear it up.
