A.M.A.Z.I.N.G !!! Never played TORG. What is the crunch level of the rules compared to 3.5 and 5e ?

Hmmm...these systems are a bit difficult to compare. I am still getting into the "Eternity" edition, but based on the original version of TORG, I would say it is close to 5E. Big difference though is character generation is much easier and quicker and overall it is much easier to be a player in TORG than in D&D. On a scale of light-medium-heavy I would place TORG on the medium level of complexity.

Some gamers are turned off by the card mechanics in TORG. The cards are used to determine initiative and to boost the abilities of players. Personally I LOVE this aspect of the game. However, it is also really easy to just leave the cards out of the game.

In the original game, you only used the twenty sided die, but in Eternity, you also use six siders.

The game scales in a brilliant way which makes it really easy to run combats both between not yet dry behind the ears farm boys or between ancient red dragons and Japanese Mecha.
