DarkUrthe Legends RPG (Black Dragon Press) - Anyone own this?

Anyone own this RPG? As I mentioned in this thread, I think I may have played it back in the late 1990s.

I've been reading some reviews about it, most of them are mixed.

There are two review at RPG.net that give it different ratings :
2/2 (Style/contents)
5/3 (Style/contents)

This podcast talks about the game extensively, even though their final verdict is "meh", they do like some aspects of the game.

Based on the podcast, I am wondering if the RPG is actually compatible or at least easily converted to older editions of D&D? Anyone know?

I do. I think i got it to support a local small publisher in Salt Lake City back in the day. I don't recall if i ever played it. It is currently in one of the many boxes I have yet to unpack and get back onto the shelves in my office.

Cool. I like that I'm not the only one who remembers this game. I think I may have come off a little negative towards it in my original post, but to be honest I think my memories may have been colored by the fact that we only played once and at that session we had many inexperienced players and a GM who sometimes produced fantastic sessions, but who was mostly a wing-it type of GM which meant his sessions could be a bit hit or miss.

I ordered a copy through Amazon so I hope I can get a chance to check out this game again and see for myself if there was anything there I might be able to use today.
