Some of that stuff looks great, but I could never fit it into my house.

What I want is compact stuff. I'd also like some dynamic stuff, like a globe projector that could display the globe of Oerth, the globe of Toril or the stars of a Spelljammer crystal sphere.

Yeah. I have some larger minis and stuff, but space is definitely an issue. I sometimes just prefer watching videos and photos from collectors who have gone wild with this kind of stuff.

Projectors and the like sounds awesome. What do you mean by compact stuff? :)

I'm like that when I go to Forbidden Planet. I have a look at cool looking stuff...and then I don't buy it.

And then I go downstairs, where I can't find any D&D novels I need or any D&D gamebooks I want.

The main problems with projectors, LCD screens and the like are getting the content onto them and dealing with parallax errors, where things don't quite seem to line up for different observers.

Well I could either build a 25mm scale nautiloid from Spelljammer or I could invest in a plan chest and print out A2 or A1 deckplans for every single spelljamming ship ever made. The first would look cooler, while the second would allow me to have more options.

Those folks that make what they call 2.5D terrain make things that take up less space than Dwarven Forge terrain. Dwarven Forge looks better, but if your corridors have walls that are a third of the height, you can fit more of them into a box.
