This video was awesome.

This might seem shocking, but I have never played HeroQuest. Now I feel like I've been missing out. :)

Any fans of the game here?

I've seen this before. Its a very hilarious video.

Its a nostalgia thing. Its better to play a D&D game.

Quote : « A lot of great memories with this game, but revisiting it decades later see it as simplistic and lacking in player options. Fine for quick dice chucking nonsense, but realize there's not much meat to it.»

Any of the WOTC D&D based boardgames will give you the same experience in a coop format. No GM required.

Oh definitely. I would never play any board game in the place of a roleplaying game.

But the video was pretty funny. :)

My dad bought it and ran it for my mom, sister, and me. I'd been playing RPGs for a few years at that point, so it was a way of sharing some of that fun with family members who had no interest in anything more involved.

I now own my dad's copy. I've been using the minis in my tabletop RPGs for years, but only recently played HQ again, when I introduced it to my kids. One of my regular gaming buddies owns a copy, and has run a quest or two for them, too. However, my kids have enough gaming experience that they'd rather play D&D or PF than HQ, and I'd rather run those for them, too.

That was an awesome video, Havard! Thanks for sharing it.

Although sadly I've never played it, and I bet I would have loved it as a kid.
