Day 1 of Calidar "Dreams of Aerie's" Kickstarter: we did very well. By the end of Day 1, we've outdone CAL1 "In Stranger Skies." All numbers were better across the board. Thank you everyone! To help continuing this success story, do feel free to pass the word around, or simply keep chatting about the project, here, on Facebook, or on Kickstarter directly.

What else can I say, but "merci!"

A good number of you did share the campaign announcement, and this helped a lot. I'm very grateful for your enthusiasm and support. Judging from the funding pattern, it looks like "Dreams" should be at least funded by the end of the event. So far, we have at least 111 visitors who watched the video; 59% of them watched it all the way through, which is pretty good actually. Out of 111 visitors, 86 are backers at this point. Compare this with "In Stranger Skies" where more than 5,000 visitors watched the video and about 400 became backers (after 30 days.) That's very encouraging, even though June is a difficult month for crowd funding.

Wow! For some reason I thought I had backed this, but now I realized that I had not yet invested.

Well, that is all taken care of now. :)

Looking forward to seeing the finalized product!

Yup. Actually, the name was first used in the circus described in CC1 "Beyond the Skies."

I'm most excited to see all the 18 x 12 posters. Bruce has done an amazing job with the deck plans, and having them as prints is miles better than having to flick back and forth in the printed book, or even look at them on the screen.

Otherwise, it's a great chance to pick up CST1 and CST2 in printed form if you missed them before. These are only available from Kickstarter events. CST1 is primarily short stories and the dwarven lexicon, while CST2 has two full adventures to run.

How about you, Håvard?

I have most of the items that has been offered in the previous Kickstarters. I haven't selected any add-ons yet, but I am considering getting the deck plans. Or maybe I will upgrade to Captain backing for that. It might be too late for this Kickstarter, but I wonder if future kickstarters could offer other little gimicky things like coins and such?

As to maps, I guess a signed copy of a map might be worth considering. I already own the Caldera and Meryath maps, but a signed copy would be nice. If I ever make it to Japan, I would have to get your signature too Thorf! :)

That sounds great in theory, but it would be a real nightmare during fulfilment. In order to save Bruce's sanity in doing a Kickstarter, it's really best to keep things as simple as possible.

Having said that, there are various options just at DTRPG that perhaps we should check out at some point. Print-on-demand maps are the holy grail for me, but they're not quite there yet, unfortunately, though I think they have some other options such as cards.

When I finally make it over to the US (no idea when that might be, unfortunately) I'm sure we can arrange for me to sign some of Bruce's remaining map stock. :D

But obviously if you make it over to Japan I'll be more than happy to sign something for you! ;)

Could not resist backing this, if only for nostalgia. This circus/carnival theme is deeply embedded in american folklore, it seems. I recall this in RPGs with White Wolfs appropriately dark take with the "Midnight Circus" sourcebook, and Pathfinders "Carnival of Tears", also splatter/horror-themed. And besides RPGs the "Carnival" series of maybe 10-12 years ago, which ended after only two seasons.

And of course, the unabashed silliness of PC2 Top Ballista, which I loved. Strangely, several folks from my gaming group back then hated that, having no trouble with flying castles or islands at the same time... I always loved some of the more crazy ideas for RPGs, even if I seldom if ever got around to play with these ideas (Spelljammer, for example).
Furthermore, it was written by Carl Sargent, whose work I most fondly remember for what he did with Greyhawk.

EDIT: After reading some more and checking out the sample files, I´m positively exited about it all. The reviews are full of praise, and from the content teasers so far, this looks so good. I guess I haven´t been that exited since paizo did their Pathfinder rules, or their Age of Worms AP before that.

I missed the last kickstarter, but I've backed this one!

By the way, I want to get a PDF of Dreams of Aerie and also of CST2 (which I missed last time around), so I chose the Master level and a $20 pledge. (Because it's another $5 to get a PDF of CST2, if I read that correctly.) Did I get that right?

Also, assuming again I understand correctly, PDFs of previously available files such as CST2 can be downloaded soon after the Kickstarter ends, correct?

Thanks in advance.

Sorry I missed your msg. For some reason, I'm not receiving notifications from the Piazza. It would have helped if you'd asked the question directly via private messaging on the kickstarter page. So, anyway--to answer your question--the text on the kickstarter page says this: "$5.00 for either CST1 or CST2 PDF documents (print-enabled): These two 64 page files, "Under the Great Vault" & "Skies of Fury," are available exclusively to Kickstarter backers." So, yeah, one extra booklet = $15 + $5 = $20.

If you want both booklets, then your Master pledge would be $15 + $5 + $5 = $25.

I'll e-mail the download links to these books after the crowdfunding process ends. :D
