Midgard's nkosi, werelions, and catfolk

Post by Tim Baker » Wed Sep 25, 2019 6:45 pm

There's been some confusion around the nkosi (anthropomorphic felines who can take the form of a lion), werelions (humans who can take a hybrid form or the form of a lion), and catfolk (anthropomorphic felines who can't shapeshift) in the Midgard setting. This post attempts to clear up the confusion and offers a 5e take on the Pathfinder nkosi. https://www.xaositects.com/2019/09/tota ... nkosi.html

Nice breakdown!

I like how Midgard has so many cool and weird races. The setting reminds me of Mystara in that way :)

Agreed. There's no combination of playable races quite like Midgard's. When I see a trollkin, a ravenfolk, a ghoul, a dhampir, and a minotaur in a party, it can only be one setting. :)

I wonder if Kobold Press will ever publish anything that establishes the relationship between these three cat races.

Based on their responses on the Facebook group, I doubt it. They don't seem as bothered by the ambiguity as the fans are. :)
