Fans of the system have compiled their own retroclone rules set (with David "Zeb" Cook's blessing) as ZeFRS (Zeb's Fantasy Roleplaying System). It can be found as a free PDF or HTML on the internet (http://www.midcoast.com/~ricekrwc/zefrs/)

Even available for print-on-demand at Lulu.com (http://www.lulu.com/us/en/shop/the-zefr ... 62792.html).

There is a community here: http://zefrs.proboards.com/

And there's third party support with another setting here: http://www.rpgnow.com/product/88729/Leg ... RS-Edition
The setting is also available in Savage Worlds and Barbarians of Lemuria rules.

The above was posted in the TSR's Conan & Red Sonja thread. The link to the free PDF fansite appears to be broken, but the site has been preserved at the Internet Archive, which includes the free download.

Has anyone else played ZeFRS in the Conan setting or in other settings?

There is a message on that archived webpage:
ZeFRS homepage wrote:ZeFRS is moving! The service hosting this site is shutting down some time before the end of April 2015. All site content has been copied over to a new version of the site hosted here: https://sites.google.com/site/zefrsrpg/

It looks like everything is on the new ZeFRS homepage. I'm not sure if there is any new stuff, but it is worth looking at it.

I've never heard of this before, but it sounds pretty interesting.

Ah, ZeFRS... I remember this game with fondness.

As a matter of fact, as a kid, I owned the old TSR boxed set and loved it because... CONAN. Hehe.

After years and years, I heard about ZeFRS, downloaded it, and even used the "Mythic Gamemaster Emulator" to play it solo for a bit. You can read my short-lived attempt at this here, if it pleases you to do so.

For quite some time, I was interested in this game. I had messed about with some house rules for it, and even submitted an expanded character generation document for it to Mark Krawec, which was based off of one done by Chris Kutalik, but sadly the link is broken and I no longer have the originating document so it is lost to the ages :(

My initial thoughts is that some reasonable method should be placed by any gamesmaster running this to ensure that players just don't put all of their points into damage. I remember struggling a bit for such a method myself when I played this, but probably not when I was a kid with the actual boxed set.
