It's been a while since I had a deity to post, but I have still been working on them! I will have some more to post in the near future, but to start with, here is the chief god of the bugbears, Hruggek the Decapitator. I'll also have another deity ready to post in a week or two. I'll also have another deity ready to post in a week or two. Enjoy!

Query: when do you think you'll get around to Damh? He's one of my favorites from Monster Mythology.

Quite a while. The list in the first post is roughly the order I'll be doing the groups in. Plus, I haven't had any ideas about what to do with him.

Ilneval the Horde Leader

Post by AuldDragon » Fri May 04, 2012 9:36 pm

Time for the Orcish deity Ilneval the Horde Leader! Ilneval is a deity of war, like Gruumsh and Bahgtru, but he focuses more on the strategic and tactical aspects of war making.

Luthic the Cave Mother

Post by AuldDragon » Mon Jun 11, 2012 10:34 am

Today I have the only major female goblinoid deity, Luthic the Cave Mother. Like many female deities, she is a goddess of fertility, healing, and protection... but with a Lawful Evil orcish twist!

Grankhul the Hunter

Post by AuldDragon » Mon Jun 25, 2012 2:48 am

Next let's delve into the bugbear pantheon a bit with Grankhul the Hunter! Grankhul is a god who embodies hunting and stealth, representing ideals that sort of make him and his priests an anti-ranger.

Kuraulyek the Horned Thief

Post by AuldDragon » Sun Jul 15, 2012 10:02 pm

One of the more isolated goblinkin deities, Kuraulyek the Horned Thief is an exile from the kobold pantheon. He is the creator and patron of the urd race, which are rarely used and had very little information written about them, so I had a fairly wide open slate to work from. Enjoy!

Shargaas the Night Lord

Post by AuldDragon » Fri Jul 27, 2012 7:49 am

One of two loners amongst the orcish pantheon, Shargaas the Night Lord is master of those acts that are best performed in darkness, the underdark, and darkness in general. He has is patron of those professions that are best performed in the darkness such as thievery and assassination. Enjoy!

Khurgorbaeyag the Overseer

Post by AuldDragon » Fri Aug 10, 2012 7:25 am

Patron of goblins as a race, and a power of strict order and organization, is Khurgorbaeyag the Overseer. He is one of the few deities who does not have a strong interest in combat, and instead is a deity of slavery and oppression. Similarly, his priests are not front line fighters, and have a great focus on maintaining social order and castes, as well as training and maintaining slaves.

Yurtrus White-Hands

Post by AuldDragon » Sun Aug 26, 2012 1:57 am

The final major orcish god, Yurtrus White-Hands is the dreadful god of death and disease. He never speaks, and is avoided by the other gods of the pantheon, who fear and loathe him. His priests are masters of orcish burials and death ceremonies, and intercede with their mute god to head off or cure diseases, as well as using their divinely granted powers to afflict such upon their enemies.

Dakarnok the Raider

Post by AuldDragon » Mon Sep 10, 2012 11:57 pm

The small kobold pantheon is filled with a number of local deified heroes and minor gods, few of which are genuine powers. Of those that have, Dakarnok the Raider is by far the most powerful and widely known. He has become the deity of kobold warriors, focusing on destruction and plunder.

Skiggaret the Deranged One

Post by AuldDragon » Sun Sep 30, 2012 10:17 am

The last of the bugbear racial deities, Skiggaret the Deranged One is the god of fear, madness, and insanity. He is sent by the other gods of the pantheon to punish tribes or drive them to acts of violence through the fear he brings. He is propitiated by bugbears, but rarely worshiped directly. Those few who do tend to be exiles and wanderers, living on the edge of bugbear society, but too frightening for the members of the tribe to actually kill. Skiggaret was one of the most enjoyable gods I've worked on recently. Enjoy!

Bargrivyek the Peacekeeper

Post by AuldDragon » Sun Oct 21, 2012 6:35 am

With a title like The Peacekeeper, one might expect Bargrivyek to be an exile from the goblin pantheon. One could not be more wrong, however; he preaches peace, not between all races, but between goblin tribes so they can more effectively wage war on non-goblins. His priesthood is of particular importance in large goblin and hobgoblin kingdoms, keeping tribal disputes to a lower key or subtly directing blame from goblins to humans, elves, dwarves, or other nearby enemies. Enjoy!

Stalker, the Hateful Shadow

Post by AuldDragon » Sat Nov 10, 2012 9:24 am

Stalker, the Hateful Shadow is not fully a part of any goblinoid pantheon, but is propitiated in many local pantheons as a god of death, particularly amongst the bugbears. It seeks nothing but death and revenge, hunting after all the goblinoid races and anything else that lives in the dark places. Its rare followers operate in secret, plotting revenge and murder upon their personal enemies. Enjoy!

Gaknulak the Trapmaker

Post by AuldDragon » Sun Nov 25, 2012 8:29 am

Gaknulak the Trapmaker is one of the few goblinkin deities with a primarily constructive aspect, being the kobold god of invention, traps, and protective construction. He is reluctantly subservient to Kurtulmak, and is frequently dragged into Steelscales’ ill-fated plots against the Gnomish gods. Enjoy!

Yeah, that god would feel quite at home in the setting that brought you The Temple of the Frog... :ugeek:

...which is where I intend to use him (having relocated the Temple of the Frog to modern Malpheggi Swamp, and the descendents of the Frog Men have become, over the thousands of years since Blackmoor, the bullywugs that now reside there (in my campaign)).

...as soon as real life stops keeping my game on hiatus, that is.
