[sale] Boshed & Bashed C&C products on sale

Post by Big Mac » Tue Dec 29, 2015 2:33 pm

Troll Lord Games are selling a number of C&C books that have been scuffed dinged or otherwise damaged, but which should be usable at the gaming table. If you are short of cash, and are looking to buy any of these books, you might want to have a look at the Damaged section in their store:
  • Classic Monsters: $10.00 (normal price $24.99 - 2 damaged copies),
  • Codex Nordica: $10.00 (normal price $27.99 - 4 damaged copies),
  • After Winters Dark Campaign Setting: $5.00 (nomal price $19.99 - 27 damaged copies),
  • Castle Keepers Guide to the Haunted Highlands: $10.00 (normal price $39.99 - 5 damaged copies),
  • Monsters & Treasure: $10.00 (normal price $29.99 - 5 damaged copies),
  • Players Handbook 6th Printing: $10.00 (normal price $29.99 - 7 damaged copies),
  • Codex of Aihrde: $10.00 (normal price $49.99 - all gone)
  • King's Commission - A Novel: $5.00 (normal price $8.99 - all gone)
  • Storyteller's Anthology: $5.00 (normal price $14.99 - 12 damaged copies)
EDIT: Codex of Aihrde and King's Commission - A Novel have sold out.

I've never played C&C.

Would anyone be able to give me an idea of how easy it might be to use any of these books with D&D (specifically 3rd Edition D&D, in my case)?

Codex Nordica is excellent! :)

Read Buttmonkey's thread below . . "Ups and downs of C&C" for some good info.

Oops, I misunderstood your post - so ignore mine from above.

M&T and Classic Monsters are C&C versions of D&D, so you could certainly use them. But really no need if you have the original books.

When I run C&C, I use both the AD&D (and D&D) monster books along with the C&C ones for the ultimate rendering of the monster and its abilities and stats.

There are variations which are useful when throwing them at your players who very likely know one or either version - so, if I can change a monster up a bit, I can do it having all the books at hand!

You can usually just replace the monsters/NPCs with equivalent 3e sources. I have used Castle Zagyg with 3e, for example.
