It’s a little pixelated, but I thought I would see if people like this logo in general first before working on a nicer one. This is the logo ICE used in the 90s for their Middle-earth products. I can try my hand at something more generic, if that is preferred.

Looks nice! I think Ashtagon is also working on one. In either case I hope we get a logo up for this place as soon as possible.

Logos used on subforums for The Piazza are used strictly to allow fans to find forums for the campaign settings and/or rule systems they like and do not constitute an assertion of ownership. So The Piazza is covered under fair use rules. The Piazza is providing free after-sales support that enhances the gaming experience of customers of those products.

Before they had that logo, they used their special font to distinguish their products. How about this one? I can actually read it at 90x30, even with my terrible eyesight!
EDIT: Made the background transparent.

The original font for the "Middle-Earth" logo (before the "eye of fire" one, when it was just a fancy font at the top of the cover of the module) is called
Scotford Uncial, in case anyone wants to play around with it.

Thanks for providing that information. I think that might help Ashtagon.

Not to keen on this shade of blue. Perhaps the covers of the MERP books could help?
Or Red:
Your earlier Black version works too IMHO.
Although I generally prefer a variant with the eye.

Falconer wrote:I guess the sort of text-based logo AlHazred suggests would be my second favorite, however, I think a logoish logo like this is preferable because it’s more distinctive. Since the forum currently sits between Lankhmar and Call of Cthulhu (both of which have simple text-based logos), it would stand out more.
I prefer your logo on my books, but my old eyes have a hard time reading the text in your logo (but the text is
there, so they always
try...)
Anyway, here you go:

I'm fine with either, but Falconer's option 1 seems the best.

BTW, was not agreed to put it up Falconer's option 1?
Maybe it just that the mods didn't have time to do it yet?
The Star Wars and Chtulhu forums too are without logos but they too were both decided, afaik..

Moderators can not do this. Only Ashtagon can do it. It's something to do with the way that phpBB works. It can't be uploaded like user account avatars. It has to be manually hacked into the forum. Otherwise I'd have put some of the logos on the forum myself.
I'll have a chat with her, to see if she has time to check out this topic.

I told her, but we were not able to get the logo up, at that time.

I like the "words with the eye" logo option.
