If you consider those that are distinct from a rules point of view, then it's just short, normal, bastard, two-handed, and rapier.

Yes, true. I probably should have pointed out that I am also interested in bladed weapons that are mentioned by different names, but still fall under the main categories.
Ethengar obviously includes the Ogre-sized Katar which probably has the added damage because it is designed for a creature of greater strength. I would assume a human size Katar is similar to a short sword.

Re: Swords & Blades from BECMI material
just to be clear you are only looking for different versions of non magical swords correct?
I have to check but I feel like B7 had scimitars.
All pictures in module aer of scimitars but are listed as normal swords.
when i saw the topic I was wondering if you were looking for magical versions, which could maybe be a cool secondary list.

And yes, I was thinking about weapon types, not famous magical or legendary swords etc. But I agree that this would make for an excellent companion thread!

Re: Swords & Blades from BECMI material
In the Player's Guide to Thyatis from the Dawn of the Emperors it specifies that normal swords are also known as broad swords.
From the Rules Cyclopedia there are one-handed and two-handed bastard swords. The Rules Cyclopedia also specifies that a standard two-handed sword is also known as a greatsword.
The Elves of Alfheim has the elven longsword.

Yeah, it clarifies that it does 1d8 damage. They're also mentioned in the Grand Duchy of Karameikos.Havard wrote:I feel like maybe Cutlass was mentioned in the Minrothad gazetteer?
