There are quite a lot of deities in the Greyhawk pantheon, but you seem to have previously focused on a subset of them.

I wouldn't want to see you hopping about the GH pantheon, because I like the current stories, but do you have some sort of behind the scenes comic-isation program going on?

Not sure what you mean exactly. Let me try to answer that. Early on yes I started with a subset of deities that I deemed most popular/easiest to recognize/had the most material. This was mostly because I had no idea how long I would be doing this and I wanted to ride the wave of GH canon at my disposal. From there as my ideas, characterizations and deity associations formed I gradually introduced more and more deities, eventually favoring some (like Norebo or Zagyg) and often forgetting others (Like Osprem or Beltar). If the time is right I do bring back those long neglected deities and I am always looking for ways to introduce new deities to the strip (Needfest is always the best time to do that) while at the same time keeping the mainstays in the limelight. I actually have a TWO new secret storylines I'm developing which may introduce a god or two we haven't seen yet. I hope that answers ya ;)

Sorry for not explaining myself. Basicall, if you look at the 3e PHB, WotC only really tell us about a few deities. But if you hunt around Greyhawk has dozens and dozens of deities. If you include all the non-human deities then there must be about 100 of them. You seem to be adding in extra stories (and I love them all by the way), but I'm not sure you have put every single deity into a story. Maybe I'm wrong, but there seem to be so many deities in the Living Greyhawk download, that I don't think anyone could do them all without a lot of work.

Thanks for that. I look forward to meeting new deties (even if they will eat up time that you would otherwise be spending on Gods in Spaaace!) :D

Yes, there is way too many and alot of them just aren't interesting or funny. But then I am found wrong later on once in a while. Many of the non-human pantheons I try to avoid but sometimes I find a gem in the rough (like Abbathor in my last Needfest comic).

Thanks for that. I look forward to meeting new deties (even if they will eat up time that you would otherwise be spending on Gods in Spaaace!) :D

Naw, I have at least (checks notes) 20 more GiS issues outlined, and it continually grows because I have to split issues due to an abundance of dialogue and new ideas as I go along.

I don't think you will ever be able to cover every god, because, as you say, some just have no comedy potential.

I even think that Vecna would be funnier as a hand like the one in the Munsters than a proper character! (Or maybe Vecna, his hand and his eye could be three different characters with Vecna constantly forgetting where he left his hand and his eye. The hand could communicate with the eye with sign language.)

Maybe you should make Vecna's hand be a member of the crew of the evil ship. If it was the communication officer, you could use the "talk to the hand" line that you often hear on the Jerry Springer Show. :P

Yikes. Well I had planned on typing out the whole text of the treasure haul then at the last minute I decided if I'm going to reccomend the module I better not give too many spoilers.

Odd, when did I start worrying about spoilers?

I love the deactivation code. Very Star Trek. :D

Interesting cliff hanger.

Of course, the way that Spelljammer works, if you dump the contents of the cargo hold into space, each bit will pull small air envelopes out with it and, if it stays together, the explosion could still happen.

Maybe the heros (and villains) should take up Irish dancing and run around the ship trying to stamp out a blackpowder fuse trail.

Alternatively, Mr Celestian's next line could be: "I have no time to discuss this logically..." and he could jump into some sort of glowing chamber and monkey about with a big egg timer. (Or you could go for the alternative version remixed for YouTube.) :P

Or you could make the self destruct work like the one on Galaxy Quest and have it always stop on six.

Thanks! That fourth panel took alot of thought and work to do. I had considered doing the first 3 panels as complete blackouts with word ballons but then I'd be accused of laziness or something. I am not looking forward to the next installment though, as I have to keep up the Gygaxian decor. That is unless the cultist takes the roseate lenses off, hm.

Meh. That would be a valid way to do it.

However, I think it would be hard to get the viewer to know it was The Cultists if you didn't show them in panel 1. If you had a pre-teleportation panel in panel 1 and then two blacked out panels before the big reveal, I think that it would have worked just as well. But without a set up panel, people might wonder if it was the Cultists speaking.

Maybe you could have done some sort of thing where you make them black and white, or just draw the outline. That might let people realise they were in total darkness. But you have already done it your way and I think your style works.

mortellan wrote: I am not looking forward to the next installment though, as I have to keep up the Gygaxian decor. That is unless the cultist takes the roseate lenses off, hm.

I think the great follow up gag is that Cultist number one has seen the drow, but Cultist number two hasn't.

Maybe the second cultist could light a candle or something and you could then have semi-lit panels where The Cultists can't actually see all the drow surrounding them.

(Mind you the geeky people would then be estimating the distance that a candle would light up and complaining that you put in too much or too little candle power! ;) )
