[Savage Worlds] [SWAdE] SWAdE is Savage Worlds Adventure Edition

Post by Princess Strega »

For anyone that gets confused as to what SWAdE is, it is an acronym for Savage Worlds Adventure Edition.

I had a brain fart in figuring this out earlier until it dawned on me.

What's the difference between that and original Savage Worlds?

quote: « Savage Worlds Adventure Edition is a GREAT improvement above previous version. I like how it is steamlined, more precise, and has more options. I love the Support rules. I already greatly appreciate the new Social Edges, new Powers, Power Modifiers. Tricks and Tests of Wills merged into that flexible Tests that can make you Vulnerable or Distracted, the great interactions with Assassin or Counterattacks, and the fact the GM can decide a raise on those Tests doesn't Shake but do something special instead. »

So it is actually a brand new edition, with rules that, while similar on surface, work quite differently.

I was lost when I did a quick look over of the SWAdE rules at the books store. Seems like it required an in-depth read to get all the changes and how they work together. I liked that fact that Explorer's Edition was down to earth and very mechanical. It felt like a simpler and more friendly version of the 3e (d20) type of game. I opted to buy Star Wars D6 instead of buying the new Savage Worlds Adventures. I still have Explorer's Edition if I feel like playing Savage Worlds again.
