Hiak-Lor* : Home of the Hiakrai tribe of Neathar (a tribe that is unique to the HW, having domesticated the giant eagle after arrival there). (HW DM's Guide)
Havard wrote: This thread has made me particularly interested in the Hiak-Lor. BTW Drew, if you are developing these further, I might have some Blackmoor tid bits we could toss in for those Giant Eagles...

I thought it could be interesting to develop this realm further. Giant Eagles were a promient part of Dave Arneson's original Blackmoor campaign, before he realized how much of a nuissance they were and removed them overnight, so I thought it could be an interesting idea to have these eagles be descended from the Eagles used by the Blackmoorians. This could explain why they were so easy (relatively speaking) to domesticate by the Hiakrai tribe.

Would this realm be home to other flying creatures as well? Sphinxes, Dragonnes, Dragons etc are likely to make their home on this Floating continent. Flying Serpents too if Hiak-Lor ever comes close to Ashmorain.

I am also thinking about including other Neathar Tribes mounted on Flying creatures, such as Giant Bat-riders and Pteranodon Riders in the syle of the Ralph Bakshi "Fire and Ice" movie .

Thanks for the reminder! I see that you have placed Hawkmen on Hiak-Lor as well. That would fit. Hawkmen are also found in the Wilderlands setting so it might be possible to borrow something from that one by the way. I suppose visitors and intruders from any of the other Floating Continents could appear on Hiak-Lor every now and then as well?

Are there stats for all of the races referenced in that issue of Threshold anywhere by the way? :)
