Unearthed Arcana and Freeport, Part 11: Artificer 4.0 plus Even More Subclasses: Short reviews of UA articles from May, August, and September.
This month's sorcerer and warlock playtests immediately struck me as being useful in a Freeport campaign.

Yes, very! And I've only been waiting for a year and a half for the Lurker to make it from Mike Mearls' Happy Fun Hour to UA...

Nice job tying these back to Freeport. I like your thoughts on them.

I'd immediately thought of Pathfinder's archetypes when I read the latest UA, but hadn't made the connection to AD&D 2e's kids. Good call-out.

In the only Freeport adventure I've run, summoning was a big deal for the cultist antagonists. I can definitely see summoning spells being appropriate in the setting.

And tattoos and sailors are a perfect pairing for the genre. Totally makes sense that they could be magical.

Unearthed Arcana and Freeport, Part 15--and official 5E Freeport news!: A few new subclasses and feats--and a link to Green Ronin's first official 5E Freeport release!

That last part is more of a footnote, really, but I felt that it needed to be mentioned on my blog ASAP. Green Ronin has released Death in Freeport updated to the 5E rules. Long-time readers of my blog may remember my quick and dirty, unplaytested, conversion of Death to 5E. Now that there is an official conversion, I will definitely be trying to run this adventure again someday soon!

Thanks for the heads up about Death in Freeport for 5e. I hadn't heard this until now. Odd that it's been relatively quiet in my circles. I would expect a release like this to be prevalent in my social media.

I agree with your analysis of the new UA content. They both fit the feel of Freeport (based on my limited knowledge of the setting), but strong ties to undead would be a danger, and definitely something to discuss with the DM first. That's solid advice.
