Fine, then. Let's find a defensible room, and set up watch turns.

You set guard turns and sleep in the library. Nothing happens in the first part of the night and you hear no sounds except for the normal noises of the forest outside. Just before dawn however you are awakened by a scream of alarm from Morganth, who was on guard duty. You see a figure near the asleep Bellithiel, searching in her pack. Morganth starts to say something, probably a spell, and the intruder realizes he has been discovered, and does the same.

Lucius throws a dagger at the intruder, hoping to interrupt the spellcasting.

Delvar and Silverleaf are the first to react, despite their wounds, but for now they just stand and take their weapons.
Morganth however sends a magical dart against the casting figure, which strikes him and flashes in the darkness. The only light in the room in fact is a small lamp near Morganth. Despite the dart, the casting figure manages to finish his spell. Suddenly Morganth, Delvar and Silverleaf fall down, deeply asleep again. Lucius feels the spell is affecting him too, but he manages to shake the effect off and stay awake. He throws his dagger, while Slinker does the same near him, but the weapons miss the figure has if he has some sort of magical protection.
Bofar takes his hammer, but he has to avoid the other and has not reached yet the figure. Bellithiel raises and unsheathe her sword to fight him, while Kesh begins a casting of his own. Bofar feels he is hit by something else, some magical paralysis, but he manages to shake it off as well. Kesh and Bellithiel also seem blocked for a short instant, but they soon move again and continue their attack.
But now a shimmering, magical doors appear on the ground, just under Bellithiel's backpack. The backpack falls down into the magical door and the mysterious figure plunges into it as well. Bellithiel screams and follows him into the magical door which immediately closes behind her...

"No that spell has a range of just 360 feet - Morganth says - we should go outside and search for Bellithiel!"
Kesh nods and tells you and the others to quickly search the house and go outside. You are without armor, but armed.
Bellithiel apparently is not in the house, so you go outside with torches to search the woods.
Soon enough you hear her calling, and find her in a small clearing about 300 feet from the house. She is unharmed, with her backpack, but alone.
"He just flew away in the night, but I managed to take the backpack. Clearly, he wants the book. He must be that wizard Oliver or another agent of Skarda. If he wants the informations here badly I fear he will attack again. I do not know if we risk more staying or rushing to Krondsfield", Bellithiel says.
"I think we should go - Kesh says - but another attack will certainly come. More ideas?" the gnome says looking at you and the others.

We should move, lest we provide an easy target. Also, Bellithiel is the only one to have read something of the book, so perhaps we should avoid risking the loss of both -- someone else should keep the book.

To Krondsfield
Scene XVIII - Hralen, Thaumont, Early Spring, to the 20th day, 993 AC

You all agree on running to Krondsfield, as it is just two hours away. Anyway as Bellithiel already knows the content, Kesh ask her and Silverleaf to move to the town in advance, while the rest of you will stay behind trying to protect the book. Kesh and Morganth cast all the magical protections and individuations they have, then you all proceed. Slinker tries to hide around you to scout the woods, but in the darkness before dawn it is not easy to see much and your torches make hiding impossible.
While you proceed in the trail as best as you can, Bofar and Lucius suddenly see Kesh, Delvar and Slinker fall down. Morganth react quite soon toward a figure floating above you in the darkness. The spell somehow succeed, because the figure goes limp mid-air.
"My sleep spell worked! - Morganth says - but the others are blocked and it will take time before the effect goes off!"
You do not have much time to think about your possibilities. An unnatural darkness descends upon you. Bofar feels a violent blow at his head, then nothing.
Lucius cannot see, he just hears a body falling down.
"What's this? Another wizard?" - Morganth says, then Lucius hears Morganth casting another spell, and someone moving near.
"I cannot see - Klaus says nearby - but I can dispel this darkness!"

Scene XVIII - Hralen, Thaumont, Early Spring, to the 20th day, 993 AC

Lucius tries to touch Bofar, but realizes the dwarf has fallen and is lying on the ground. Then the light returns, as Morganth has a magical one in the palm of his hand. He and Lucius see Bofar, Kesh, Delvar and Slinker down around them.
And they also see Klaus with the book in his hands.
"Better to take it", the cleric says, with a hand on his holy symbol at the neck. Then the darkness falls again, and Lucius cannot see.
"What's this? another wizard? - Morganth says - Lucius, move down or up the path and you will be outside the area of darkness!"

To Krondsfield
Scene XVIII - Hralen, Thaumont, Early Spring, to the 20th day, 993 AC

Lucius feels something, he probably touched Klaus' leg, but the cleric moves away quickly and avoids being tripped. Anyway the Thyatian warrior moves up the path and finally he is outside the darkness. A fallen torch provides little light, but he can see Klaus with the book near the floating wizard Morganth put to sleep before. Klaus has throw a stone to the figure, who has awaken. Even in the dim light, Lucius can see the figure is Oliver. The wizard smiles at him, takes the book from Klaus' hands and moves away in the night, floating. Morganth throw a knife at him, but the weapon just bounces off an invisible barrier around the wizard.
Klaus does not spend much time staying still and runs away in the darkness.
"Klaus was a traitor", Morganth says, dismayed.

Morganth sighs and proceed to remove the others from the magical darkness, then wake them. Kesh soon heals Bofar which took a bad blow on the head, clearly from Klaus. Soon you are all back in shape to move to Krondsfield again.
"Klaus played us - Kesh says - he was helpful against Gunter but obviously this was also in his and Oliver's interest. Now they know what we know, and this means we should move fast to Krondsfield and then to our next destination".
Later while you are back walking, Kesh also talks discretly only to Lucius and Bofar.
"The information in the book is too important to share it with others. Bellithiel will only show it to Nethril and Taran. Then we have to decide what to do, not an easy choice because time is relevant, but we may be too few to face Oliver and, possibly, even Skarda".

It really depends on what Bellithiel was able to glean from the book. If she doesn't share the information with us, we're going to walk blind into Oliver's and Skarda's traps... not a very bright perspective.

There is also the fact that if we lose Bellithiel now, we do not know anything. We have to persuade her to share at least something important.

To Krondsfield
Scene XIX - Hralen, Thaumont, Early Spring, to the 20th day, 993 AC

"I already know what Bellithiel knows - Kesh says in a whisper - the book had just a few lines, but enough to point us in the right direction, about the people who know what is the origin of Skarda's Mirror".
At dawn you are in Krondsfield again, and Bellithiel and Silverleaf have already arrived safe and sound. While the others go to their homes to rest, Nethril see you, Kesh, Taran and Bellithiel alone, and you tell him what happened.
"Now that Oliver has the book it is likely that Skarda will try to discover the secrets of the Mirror before us. You see the book Gunter had mentions that the Mirror is an ancient artifact, and its powers are great. If Skarda learns to use it fully, he will be able to gather armies from other worlds, and he will have an enormous power at his disposal. That we cannot allow. An isolated community of elves, the one which was indeed your original destination, has guarded this secret for centuries, maybe millenia. Clearly, that was the reason why they contacted Eveskyr and Karameikos, they fear they cannot face Skarda alone. And now we have involuntarily pointed him directly to them. But obviously, Oliver would have taken the book even without our assistance, as he already knew it existed, as we saw in his letter to Bonegnasher. Now you have an immediate choice to make. I can teleport you all to the elves, right now. It will be risky, but it is necessary to go there and warn them as soon as possible. You do not have to do that obviously, you could just warn Eveskyr and let others take this one", Nethril says.

I don't see great options... if we don't go, there will be no help as of now. Still, if you can find others to help, that would be useful. We are too few to address such a major threat to Karameikos and Eveskyr. All support will be useful.

From Krondsfield to Kota Hutan
Scene XX - Hralen, Thaumont, Early Spring, 20th day, 993 AC

"Yes I will start with Taran and Bellithiel, then you and any other who is willing to come. I will reach the elven community myself eventually, and also warn Penhaligon. However as the place is about 62 miles from here, you could also cover the same distance in little more than a day with fast post horses. Travelling fast by horse is tiring and could be dangerous too, but I suppose many people could find it better than magical teleport. What do you prefer?" Nethril asks.
