Late last year, Mike Mearls was working on 5th Edition Nentir Vale material. Now he is working on a Gamma World game. Here are a few Tweets about his game:

Lets hope they don't try to push random mutation card boosters like they did with the D&D 4e based version... The 4e (7e GW) rules were quite fun actually. I would buy a box of mutation cards similar to spell cards for D&D5e.

D&D 4e rules should have been a great Gamma World. I was really disappointed with that version. Especially since the Earth Delta looked so good (although I never fully read it or ran it). I'm not sure if I want a D&D 5e version. I'm afraid they will push it to far to the humorous realm again.
