Praise the Fallen

Post by Beoric » Fri Jan 11, 2019 5:52 am

I thought I would share a (free) adventure I ran across that would do nicely for a creepy Radiant Idol cult. The fluff has it in a mountain somewhere, but it could easily be placed under Sharn. Note as an old school adventure each square is 10 feet, not 5.

It can be found here: https://graphiteprime.blogspot.com/2018 ... allen.html.

You can read a review here: https://tenfootpole.org/ironspike/?p=4615.

Thanks for posting this.

Did you make any conversion notes to go with it?

You don't run your Eberron games using an old school system? ;)

Conversion to what? I run 4e, I think the only other person who does is ThePurple, and he isn't exactly old school...

EDIT: I mean, I could give you my notes for placing The VIllage of Hommlet in the Eldeen Reaches using 4e, but I think its a pretty limited audience.

Sorry, I meant a setting conversion, rather than a rules conversion.

I was wondering if you added in details related to Sharn to make this adventure work in your game.

I like 3rd Edition, rather than 4th Edition, but I'd still be interested in knowing what would need to be rebooted about The Viliage of Hommlet to make it work in Eldeen Reaches.

And if you have legal 4e stuff that you are willing to share with 4e Eberron fans, that would be great!

Ah, well, conversion of Praise the Fallen to Eberron is dead easy.

1. Sharn is built on the ruins of a goblinoid city, and there are many old dungeons hidden in its depths.

2. One of the features of Sharn is, it is a favoured dumping ground for the angels of Syriana, specifically when they want to get rid of angels who have fallen. It is essentially a penal colony for fallen angels, known in the setting as "radiant idols". It if the nature of radiant idols that they like to attract followers and build cults to themselves.

3. Praise the Fallen is a dungeon adventure involving a cult to an imprisoned fallen angel that wants to free him.

Just ignore the first paragraph of the two-paragraph "Background", and run the rest pretty much as written. Done.
