Beyond Heroes, Episode 7

Post by Tim Baker »

In Beyond Heroes Episode 7, three characters from the Dragonlance Chronicles are present or mentioned. In case you aren't familiar with the series, Beyond Heroes is the D&D actual play series from D&D Beyond. While D&D Beyond licenses D&D from WotC, they seem to have a close relationship. Do you think this heralds a future Dragonlance release for 5e?

In case you're curious, the Dragonlance characters that are present or mentioned in the episode are Raistlin, Takhisis, and Lord Soth.

If D&D Beyond was doing an entire series set in Dragonlance, I might think it meant something (like I thought it meant something when they were focusing on Nentir Vale). I think they are just trying to appeal to a bunch of different interest groups, which is fine.

But it's nice to see a single storyline connected to Dragonlance.

The world needs a Dragonlance show. :)

While the majority of Episode 8 took place in Waterdeep, it featured another Dragonlance NPC: Fistandantilus. I'm still unsure if this is some sort of spoiler for future episodes. Even if that's the case, does it hint at a future product? Probably not, but it's interesting.
