Deities & Demigods
Provides the Dungeon Master with gods, heroes and monsters from myth, fiction and legend for us in rounding out an Advanced D&D campaign. Within this book are seventeen pantheons of divinities, each profusely illustrated. Also included are new material on clerics' conduct and their relationships with their deities, information on character morality and immorality, and more!
Note that Chaosium sent TSR a cease and desist letter over the content of this book. TSR made a deal with Chaosium (and credited them in the second printing) but then removed the Melnibonean and Lovecraft content for the (third printing onwards). James M. Ward has gone on record saying that he had written permission from Arkham House and Michael Morcock and that TSR was not acting illegally, but two entire chapters were removed from this book as a result of the incident. If you want to buy a second-hand copy of this book, you may want to confirm if the Melnibonean and Lovecraft chapters are included in the copy you are being offered.
